OVERVIEW

Illuminarium, designed by LAB at Rockwell with Electrosonic as design partners and integrators, is a 30,000 square feet space that hosts large-scale, 360° multi-sensory spectacles, an after-dark bar experience, retail space, cafe, ticketing lobby and outdoor dining space. Illuminarium’s innovative technology infrastructure is powered by the world’s most advanced projection, audio, interactive and control systems, including Panasonic 4K projectors, HOLOPLOT 3D spatial audio, LIDAR sensing technology for real-time generative content and Powersoft low-frequency haptic speakers.

To ensure the optimum guest experience, Electrosonic maintains this complex infrastructure with a support program that provides skilled technical support, together with deep understanding of the way these advanced technologies work together – the first time so many advanced technologies have been incorporated in a single experience. The support program also takes account of Illuminarium’s concept of ‘reprogrammable theater’ — a dynamic, flexible infrastructure engineered to accommodate any kind of content without implementing new systems.

SOLUTION

To meet the demanding support requirements, Illuminarium selected Electrosonic’s Affinity Services, an on-site audiovisual support service which provides skilled On-Site Service Technicians as an extension of Illuminarium’s internal team, providing expert skills and knowledge of the advanced technologies. The on-site team handles proactive maintenance, daily system checks, problem diagnosis and resolution and software updates to maximize uptime and minimize through-life costs. They also support ongoing testing and solutions for system changes and additions to keep the spectacle moving forward.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

Affinity by Electrosonic is a cost-effective solution to demanding support requirements. The On-Site Technicians are involved early in the project so they gain invaluable understanding of the systems from the integration team. Affinity can be customized to individual operational and business requirements and can also include event support, field service, equipment coverage and a helpdesk as well as on-site staffing. The service is designed to optimize visitor experience by keeping systems operating reliably and minimizing downtime.
