The annual DIZZIE Awards celebrate groundbreaking projects from around the world whose digital signage installations challenge existing standards and drive the industry forward.

This year, Electrosonic was shortlisted for three awards at the prestigious Digital Signage Experience Awards 2024, including:

  • View Boston in the Entertainment & Recreation and Experiential Design & Planning categories
  • Baylor University's Mark & Paula Hurd Welcome Center in the Education Environments category

"We’re thrilled to see our recent work celebrated by industry leaders," said Sean McChesney, Chief Revenue Officer at Electrosonic. "Our passion for leveraging immersive technology to elevate guest experiences shines through at View Boston and Baylor University, each of which demonstrates our commitment to delivering impactful digital experiences in unique and diverse environments alongside of our partners."

View Boston

View Boston was nominated in both 'Entertainment & Recreation Project of the Year' and 'Experiential Design & Planning' categories. The Experiential Design & Planning award recognizes installations that have a primary objective of captivating users with multiple displays and technologies that create an environment of interactivity and virtual experiences.

View Boston, a 59,000-square-foot observation deck at Boston’s iconic Prudential Center, offers an immersive journey across two floors. Experiential elevators, dedicated welcome and finale areas and breathtaking views combined with interactive exhibits create a vibrant, highly personalized visitor experience.

The journey begins on the ground floor, where guests enter a security holding area featuring projected highlights of Boston’s most iconic attractions. From there, an immersive elevator ride showcases the city’s sights and sounds. On the 52nd floor, guests interact with 32-inch touchscreen viewers, allowing them to pinpoint specific locations across the city. Using a barcode reader, guests can add points of interest to a personalized itinerary by scanning their entry ticket.

At the Boston 365 exhibit, guests encounter a 50-foot-wide 3D model of the city, where projection mapping brings Boston’s stories to life in continuous narrative loops. Nearby, the Explore Boston exhibit features fourteen LED touchscreens where guests can further explore Boston’s neighborhoods and attractions.

In the Open Doors theater, a 270-degree immersive experience awaits, combining five projectors and a 6.2 sound system to present a compelling 18k resolution short film. The journey concludes in the Finale space, where guests can complete their itineraries at one of twelve kiosks equipped with touchscreens and barcode readers.

View Boston demonstrates how groundbreaking experiential design and planning, together with collaborative efforts with key partners—Christie Digital, Float4, FrankNDesign, JRA, Lightborne, Nanolumens and 7thSense—were instrumental in creating an experience that sets new standards for entertainment and recreation venues.

Baylor University’s Mark & Hurd Welcome Center

The Hurd Welcome Center is a finalist in the Education Environments category, which recognizes the beneficial impact of digital signage on student life.

The Hurd Welcome Center provides a technology-rich ‘front door’ to Baylor University’s campus and serves as an inspirational community space designed to make a lasting impression on current and prospective students, staff, alumni and visitors.

Inside the Center, four 96-foot-high columns provide a symbolic link to the original University site while welcoming the next generation of ‘Bears’ with immersive, interactive experiential technology. Inside the columns, videos and custom content depict Baylor’s four foundational themes – Reflect, Connect, Aspire and Amplify – and communicate what life at Baylor can offer.

Designing digital signage solutions and integrating them into extremely compact spaces with restricted access and complex projection and acoustical surfaces posed significant technical and logistical challenges.

Electrosonic, in partnership with DetaiLED™, HOLOPLOT, Populous, Pixera, RLMG, Smart Monkeys and Xibitz, took responsibility for audiovisual design, installation and integration of custom technology and show control systems within the columns.

Final results delivered next month in Las Vegas

The final judging process for the awards is underway and winners will be announced live at the Digital Signage Federation conference on December 9, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“Electrosonic’s experience of creating complex, large-scale experiential digital environments was critical to overcoming the unique technical and logistical challenges of both projects," said McChesney. "Success is due to the collaboration between clients, partners and the talented teams of Electrosonic design consultants, engineers, integrators, project managers and support staff who bring the visions to life. We are grateful to them all.”
