Are You Ready for IAAPA?
Taking place in Orlando, IAAPA is also an opportunity for participants from over 100 countries to discover the latest products and technologies on the trade show floor, learn from world-renowned industry experts, and build connections with industry colleagues. Electrosonic is excited to be one of the many exhibitors.
Let’s take a look at some of the projects we completed since the last IAAPA event.
Warner Bros. World™ Abu Dhabi
The award winning Warner Bros. World™ Abu Dhabi, the world’s first-ever Warner Bros. branded indoor theme park, which transports guests to the lands of their favorite Super Heroes and Animated characters via interactive family-friendly rides, authentically themed lands and immersive experiences.
The sheer volume of audiovisual (AV) technology utilized in creating the Abu Dhabi park demonstrates how central AV has become in today’s theme parks. With over 20 rides that include many types of projection, 3D 360-degree cinema, a 3D dark ride, a 3D interactive ride, and huge dome projections the audiovisual technology is a pivotal component of the thriving theme park. Select rides also feature large-scale architectural projection mapping as well as performance stages and BGM all around the park seamlessly integrated into the show set.
The Spectacle MGM Cotai
Electrosonic developed an immersive, innovative multisensory experience that captures natural wonders with the latest technology. The quality of the imagery and the advanced technology behind it blend perfectly with the luxury of the resort’s architecture and decor, giving it a powerful differentiator in the growing market for Chinese tourism. It makes the ultimate style statement to the world with every detail of the five-star luxury resort unified to create an inspiring image of passion and artistry that reinforces the MGM Cotai brand.
International Spy Museum
The International Spy Museum is the only public museum in the United States solely dedicated to espionage — and the only one in the world with a global perspective on a centuries-old profession that’s invisible to most people. The experience here is part museum and part game. Interactive and immersive exhibits let visitors experience what it takes to be an officer, agent or analyst working in the shadows, sometimes with life or death consequences.
Data from the interactive lanyard monitors visitors’ performance at every stage with results presented on a personal score sheet which they can access via the lanyard. Successful spies can go on to apply their new-found skills in other interactive games. ‘Mind Games’ explains the mental patterns and biases that can foil intelligence operations. ‘Red Teaming’ involves visitors in helping the CIA examine a compound where Osama Bin Laden might have been hiding — raid or stand down?
Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre (SAASCC)
The award winning SAASCC is located on a 13-hectare site in the Al-Sha’ab district of Kuwait City. The cultural center includes the Natural History Museum, Science and Technology Museum, Arabic Islamic Science Museum and Space Museum.
Taking 5 years to complete, the comprehensive museum complex houses 23 galleries in over 22,000 square meters. A truly immersive experience filled with engagement opportunities, SAASCC sports over 800 exhibits and experiences including a 4D theater adventure inside the human body and a 1-million-liter aquarium.
National Comedy Center
The visionary museum makes visitors the stars of the show and it would interest every age group. So far, results have proved the organizers right. Since it opened in August 2018, it has attracted record numbers of visitors from all over — and many of them are comedians themselves. It has won a coveted museum industry award for engaging audiences with innovative digital programs and gained the prestige of ‘national’ designation from Congress in 2019.
Quite possibly the most plugged in interactive experience guests may ever have, this museum is truly immersive delivering personalized experiences tailored to guest tastes throughout. Based on individual humor profiles, an interactive ‘Laughband’ customizes content across 50 exhibit areas. Visitors can try stand-up, comedy writing or learn about their favorite comedians through technology. All content is digital and easily augmented to entice visitors back for more.
Niagara Falls Underground Railroad
The Heritage Center aims to tell the story from the perspective of the leading figures and the people involved in the Underground Railroad. Not easy, when most of the events took place in the 1800s. The organizers also aim to recreate the experiences of these people so that visitors get a real sense of the challenges the freedom seekers, the abolitionists and their helpers faced and overcame. And there’s another great spiritual, ‘All my trials Lord soon be over.’ The aim was not just education, but inspiration.
Working with Richard Lewis Media Group (RLMG) Electrosonic helped utilized technology to bring the realities of this extraordinary 19th century movement to life for today’s visitors. Linear video, Interactive and interpretive media help visitors understand and experience the dramatic final stages of the long, hard journey for themselves. Multimedia recreations of the crossing points highlight the risks the freedom seekers faced. Powerful audio gives a voice to historic figures letting them tell inspirational stories in their own words.
Idaho State Museum
Idaho State Museum recognized that the traditional ‘stop, walk and read’ museum was no longer appropriate. They had to take a different approach — one that would engage the audience and create a memorable experience that could bring the past to life.
Electrosonic was tasked with supporting forty-six individual multimedia exhibits to engage the audience with innovative storytelling solutions. They recreate real mining explosions, hear voices from the past round a virtual campfire or ride a bike through historic neighborhoods. And the showstopper, an immersive 4D wraparound recreation of the ‘Big Burn’ that turns the gallery into a burning forest.
Mascot Hall of Fame
Designed by world class design firm Jack Rouse Associates (JRA) this is an interactive museum that combines mascot-themed exhibits with engaging activities that feature educational content based around science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics. Visitors can use interactive facilities to design their own mascots or learn about the history of mascots in sport. To widen interest among mascot professionals, the organizers plan induction weekends and boot camps. Truly, a multimedia experience.
The unusual nature of the museum meant it had to go beyond the average display. It had to be different — surprise visitors with the extraordinary and engage them. The museum also maintains year-round interest by integrating technology, physical displays, regular new inductions to refresh the displays and themed events. Storytelling, technology and interaction have turned an unusual concept into an unlikely success story.
Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center
Today’s consumers want to know where their food comes from, how it’s produced, and who is producing it. The Center knew it had to engage and educate the community — show how Wisconsin agricultural producers make food safely, humanely and sustainably. That means taking visitors beyond the barn — demonstrating how technology and traditional farming practices come together to make Wisconsin one of the most critical states in US agriculture.
A series of audiovisual experiences give visitors an engaging immersive insight into the way agriculture works. Visitors can take an interactive journey from the farm to the table. They can get up close and personal with a real live cow birth, experience farm work through simulations or follow food through a cow’s digestive system. Moreover, visitors can use technology to find out how technology shapes agriculture.
